Looking to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day getaway in Boone, NC? Look no further, because we’ve got you covered. Valentine’s Day is on a Friday this year, so that means the festivities are going on all weekend. There are plenty of things going on here in our mountain town, and I’m sure you’ll be able find the perfect activity for you and your sweetie. We’ve rounded up a few events that we’re excited about and written about them below. What, you’re single? No worries. In my opinion, Valentine’s Day is just as much about self love and friend love as it is about romantic love. We like to think of Valentine’s Day as a general celebration of love, love for all! Regardless of how you plan to celebrate, let us fill you in on all the good things Boone has in store next weekend.
Good eats.
I love my partner, I love myself, and I love my friends and family. But I’ve also got a little love affair going on with… you guessed it: food. So, where to go for some of the best eats in town on your Valentine’s Day getaway? Well, Boone and Blowing Rock are home to some amazing restaurants. It’s hard to pick favorites. For the purposes of this post, we’ll limit our good eats section to restaurants that feature Valentine’s Day specials this year. Gamekeeper does a really fun Galentine’s Day dinner occurring on the 13th. If you’re looking for an exceptionally romantic spot, I’m talking award-winning, head on over to Gideon Ridge in Blowing Rock. Basil’s of Boone, NC features a Valentine’s Day wine dinner.
Sweet treats & pretty flowers.
It’s not Valentine’s day without a little sugar, am I right? Nor is it Valentine’s day without some flowers. As far as sweets go, Kindly Kitchen, located right downtown is hosting a Valentine’s Day dessert bar. This is their fifth year doing it, and it’s a whole lot of fun. It’s great for big groups, small groups, and singles. If you’ve never been to this place, I highly recommend checking it out. As far as flowers go, we recommend giving our friends over in Blowing Rock at Mountain Laurel Floristry a call. Perhaps our favorite thing about this business is that they do so many live plants, and that’s something we can get behind!
Dance the night away.
Dance the night away with your besties, or squeeze your honey tight. Whatever it is that you’re planning on doing, Boone’s got a surprising amount of dancing going on over Valentine’s Day weekend. We recommend heading on over to The Beacon, Boone’s newest event space. Tickets are required, but you’ll get to enjoy a special four course dinner and dancing at this event. Plus, the space is gorgeous… I mean absolutely beautiful. It’s an event that you don’t want to miss, that is if you love fine food and dancing! There’s also a swing dancing event over at Harvest House on Valentine’s Day. Boone Saloon presents Erik Brandt’s Marvin Gaye Valentine’s Soiree.
For a low-key weekend…
Dancing not quite your thing? Sometimes it’s just nice to have a relaxing dinner while listening to some music. It makes for great ambiance. Lost Province has live music lined up all weekend, so make sure to check their schedule. On Valentine’s Day they’ll have Staci Braun getting the mood right, so swing by for wood-fired pizza and brews. Ransom, in downtown Boone, also has live music lined up for the weekend. The Appalachian Theatre is doing a special Valentine’s Day stage reading of the award winning play Love Letters. Enjoy a relaxing, low key Valentine’s weekend if that’s your thing.
Make your weekend even sweeter with a stay at the Horton.
Go the extra mile and book a stay with us over the weekend. Visit with a friend, visit with your partner, or visit with a family member. Make the Horton your home base and enjoy a super special Valentine’s Day getaway this year. We offer plenty of packages so that you can customize your stay and make it extra special! I’m sure we’ll have some Valentine’s Day cocktails on too, so don’t miss it. What are you waiting for!?
