The word “boutique” is thrown around a lot these days, especially in the world of hospitality. However, most experts can agree on several key factors that set boutique hotels apart from other lodging options. We are excited to share what makes a boutique hotel “boutique” so that you can better understand what we have to offer at The Horton Hotel & Rooftop Lounge! For all you travel enthusiasts out there, we also wanted to share some information about several other inspiring, beautiful boutique hotels located throughout NC. So read on to learn more about boutique hotels in North Carolina.
What is a boutique hotel?
Boutique hotels are notorious for their unique amenities, history, and character. The boutique experience is often highly personalized, and you’re sure to be greeted warmly upon arrival. At the Horton Hotel & Rooftop Lounge, we’re incredibly passionate about service. From the moment that you walk through our front door, we want you to feel comfortable and welcome. We hope that you’re able to feel all of the passion that we’ve poured into the creation of this hotel.
Most boutique hotels are small, and generally have less than 100 rooms. Creating intimate atmospheres that are warm and inviting, serving up delicious small plates and drinks, and representing the vibrant culture of their neighborhoods are just a few key things you can expect if you choose a boutique hotel. At the Horton we’re also passionate about our community, and sticking true to the values of boutique properties, we strive to be as neighborly as possible. My favorite boutique hotels are typically independently owned properties.
I’ve stayed at some amazing big name “boutique” hotels, but I tend to really love the quirkiness of a small, locally owned property. I’m always particularly excited to hear the story behind the hotel. I love being able to meet the owners, managers, and interact with the passionate staff that make the magic happen. The majority of people I’ve met in these roles have such a vested interest in their community, and that is so exciting to me.
