We’ve got big news that we’re excited to share with ya’ll. Are you ready? After much consideration, we’ve decided that YES, we will be offering up our space at the Horton for micro-weddings! If you’ve ever dreamed about getting married in downtown Boone but just didn’t know where to do it, we’ve got you covered. That is, if you’re looking to plan an intimate affair. With just fifteen rooms, space is limited in the hotel, so it makes for the perfect cozy atmosphere to host a small wedding. We don’t have all the details set in stone yet and are still trying to decide the types of packages that we’ll be offering, how many people we can host in our space, and more. But it’s safe to say we are thrilled about this new offering. So, what’s a micro-wedding anyway? Read on to learn about the wedding industry’s newest trend: micro-weddings, why we love them, and why we think they’ll be just perfect for our space!
Freedom to be whatever you want it to be.
There’s something liberating about the thought of a micro-wedding. For years, couples have been pressured to abide by this traditional (and sometimes rigid) idea of what a wedding should be. Don’t get me wrong, if you love tradition and the thought of planning out a massive wedding fills you with excitement – do it! Don’t hold back. But if, for whatever reason, the thought of all that planning has you stressed, well, I feel you. I’m not married, nor am I engaged, but the anxiety is real! When I first learned about the concept of micro-weddings, I kind of couldn’t believe it. It’s like the perfect hybrid between an elopement and a wedding.
Engage with all of your guests.
Generally speaking, a wedding classified as “micro” has anywhere from 5-50 people in attendance. I don’t think we’ll be able to accommodate quite that many people at the Horton, but you get the general idea. The main point of a micro-wedding is to reduce stress and offer up a more intimate experience for guests. A micro-wedding is the perfect opportunity to really connect with your guests. Instead of just a smile, nod, or hug, with a limited amount of guests, you’ll get to really engage with each and every one of them.
Save on the wedding, splurge on….whatever you’d like!
Not only that, but if you opt to have a micro-wedding you’ll likely be saving money. My idea of a good time? Reallocating all of that saved money to an epic honeymoon adventure. Or you’ll have more money to splurge on the dress of your dreams. Have you heard about Juniper James Bridal in Boone yet?!? Or maybe you want to save all that extra money for part of a down payment on a house. Or maybe you invest more in the special experience of each of your guests. The choice is yours. You have options if you go the micro-wedding route.
